Waynesboro City Council is considering a Conditional Use Permit for an existing events business at 601 Alphin Avenue, zoned for single-family and general residential use. The property has operated as an event and gathering venue since 2020 without this permit. City planning staff recommended approval; the Planning Commission voted 4–2 on July 21, 2026 to recommend approval to Council. Council held a public hearing on the application on August 10, 2026.
Protecting long-term residents' quality of life should matter more to Council than accommodating a new business.
